CERN’s federated learning platform, CAFEIN*, which was originally designed to spot anomalies in the operation of the accelerator chain, can also be used in healthcare, specifically in the management of stroke patients.
Vall d'Hebron, a leading healthcare campus in Barcelona, CERN and eleven other partners from across Europe have joined forces to assist clinicians, caregivers and patients by creating AI algorithms using data confined to the hospital environment – the key feature of the CAFEIN platform.
